Genesis Reading Time!
Did you know there was actually a specific season in the Church year for reading Genesis?
In the Greek or Byzantine Rite at least, that is Lent, or at least early parts of Lent.
In the Latin Rite, this year, Lent starts today.
So ... no meat, dairy, eggs, theater or cinema or public dances (ideally, there are some alleviations available in more recent Church discipline), only one meal per day (there is an alleviation available) AND time to read Genesis.
And pershaps also St Basil's or someone's sermons on Genesis.
